オールディーズのムードなんてかけらもないタイポグラフィの実験みたいなポスターですが
文句ひとつ言わずに使ってくれていて本当に感謝してます。
クラフト紙は、とりあえず古くささの演出になってるんですけどね。

キッパーズが演奏する音楽の中心は1950〜60年代のアメリカンポップスで
ポール・アンカとかベンチャーズなどですがよく考えてみると、それって半世紀も前の音楽なんですね。
実際バンドとして50年近く活動していますからそろそろ文化勲章とかもらえそうですね。

いくらローカルの小さなバンドとはいえ（失礼な言い方ですが）
プロとしてこれぐらい長く続けているグループは数少ない気がします。
ウケをねらうなら時代に合わせて新しいこともやれたでしょうにオールディーズにこだわってやり続けたのはりっぱです。
その時々の損得よりも、自分たちの得意なことをはずさないほうが精神的にも気持ち良く、うまくいくんでしょうね。

自分のことにあてはめてみてもそうですね。札幌はやっぱりローカルなので、何でもしなきゃいけませんから。

アートディレクターという肩書きはつけてますが、グラフィックデザイナーのほうがしっくりきますね。
乱暴にいうとアートディレクターは監督で、グラフィックデザイナーは俳優なんです。
たいがい監督になって俳優を演出したいと思う人が多いんですが僕はスクリーンの中で演技したいですね。
それが好きなんだからしようがありません。

大きなプロジェクトのプロデュースなんかも出来なきゃ生き残っていけないなんて言われますが、
得意じゃないものを無理にやってもしようがないんです。逃げてるわけじゃないんですよ。

川島永嗣は本田圭佑になれないじゃないですか。

This poster has absolutely no mood of oldies music. It looks like an experiment of typographic. I appreciate it that they use the poster without any complaint. The kraft paper actually supplies the effect of quaint impression.

The Kippers mainly plays American Pops from 1950s and 1960s such as Paul Anka and The Ventures. When you think about it carefully, those music were produced half a century ago. The Kippers has been playing as a band for almost 50 years. So, they should deserve to receive the Award of Culture.

Although the Kippers is a small local band, there is few bands who continue to perform this long time. If the Kippers had aimed for popularity, they could have tried something else in line with times. But I feel a deep respect for their persistency with oldies music. I think you feel more pleasant when you pursue what you are good at with no regard to profits, and actually things go well that way.

It holds true for myself. Because Sapporo is local area, I have to do everything.

I hold the title as “Art Director”, but I feel more comfortable with the title as “Graphic Designer” . Roughly, “Art Director” is a film director and “Graphic Designer” is an actor. Many want to be a film director and direct actors, but I want to perform in screen. I can’t help it because I like it.

Some say that you cannot survive unless you can produce a big project.
But I think there is no point in trying things that you are not good at. It doesn’t mean I am trying to walk away from unpleasing projects.

You know Eiji Kawashima cannot become Keisuke Honda.
